Pregnancy Friendly Fabrics & Care Advice
Fabrics
Our fabrics …. No heavy shrinkage, bobbling or colour fade!
Pregnant skin is more sensitive and warmer than usual so our starting point was to find the most exquisite, pregnancy friendly fabrics available today. So we’ve scoured the globe for really luxurious jersey made from the best quality yarn, which not just feels fantastic but launders beautifully and wears well.
What is Viscose/Rayon?
We think that viscose is one of the dream team of fabrics. It is neither a ‘natural’ fibre like silk or cotton nor is it a so-called ‘synthetic’ fibre i.e. man-made from petrochemicals like nylon/rayon and polyester. Viscose is actually a ‘regenerated’ fibre which sits between the natural and synthetic categories by being man-made, but from a natural source – cellulose (or wood pulp). It is luxuriously soft, far softer than cotton and has better recovery than silk making it a beautiful and fluid fabric to wear.
What is Elastane/Spandex?
More commonly known by its brand name lycra, it puts the forgiving elasticity and pregnancy stretch into your clothes and has revolutionized fashion.

Care Advice
All of our products are specifically designed to be simple and easy to care for. They are lightweight, travel extremely well, do not always require ironing and can be washed at 30°C degrees but here are some extra tips to help you keep your clothes looking as good as new:
Shrinkage
All jersey fabrics will shrink roughly 2-3% and our fabric has been tested and certified by the manufacturer for shrinkage and colour loss. Our clothes have been expertly designed and fitted to allow for any possible shrinkage so that you don't have to worry.
Colours
It’s not a marketing trick, it is important to use a mild detergent designed for coloureds as others generally contain bleach or whitening agents which can cause the colour (black included) to fade.
Drying
We recommend that you do not tumble dry jersey fabric. It may shrink your clothing and will make it feel harder to the touch.
Ironing
It is easiest to iron the garments when they are still slightly damp.
Stain Removal
Soak or wash the item as quickly as possible as it is far harder to remove them once dry. Pre-wash stain removers such as Bio Tex are very effective. Other stain removers can be placed in the wash along with your normal washing powder.
