SECURITY
Secure online ordering
You may be concerned about the privacy and confidentiality of personal information, including credit card and billing address information. Lulu Arver has taken many precautions to ensure that this information is safe and secure.
For the most part, people who access our site will be simply viewing materials we\'ve prepared and made accessible to everyone and there is no need therefore for these pages to be protected by either encryption or password (secure). There are two exceptions to this, namely the Your Account area and the Checkout area.
Your Account
Once you have registered with us, your online account information is protected by a password chosen by you. Access to that online account requires your username and password. While no data transmission over the Internet can be 100% secure, upon receiving your transmission, we will make all reasonable efforts to ensure it is security on our servers. It is then down to you to maintain the secrecy of your username and password and/or account information and we therefore recommend that you do not disclose this information to any other person.
Checkout
All Lulu Arver payment transactions are processed by Paypal and as such are are protected by the industry standard security protocol technology known as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) which is used by the Website to communicate with secure browsers such as Internet Explorer and Netscape. If your browser is capable of SSL, your sensitive information will automatically be encrypted before being sent over the Internet.
(You don\'t however have to know in advance whether your browser does support secure transactions- if it doesn’t you will not be able to complete the checkout process and the transaction will be cancelled automatically). All SSL capable browsers have a symbol (either a closed lock or a key) which indicates a secure mode. In addition, you will be able to tell when you are in a secure area by the URL appearing in the address bar, which will change from HTTP to HTTPS.
We process all payments using the PayPal Payments Pro system. This system ensures that all sensitive information is stored on a heavily encrypted database and protected by multiple firewalls.
We will take all reasonable care to keep your order secure, but in the absence of our sole negligence we cannot be held liable for any loss you may suffer if a third party obtains unauthorised access to any of your data, including credit card details that you have provided.
We comply fully with The Distance Selling Regulations 2000; Electronic Commerce Regulations (EC Directive) 2000; and The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (EC Directive) 2003. More information can be found at www.dti.gov.uk
